Fun Store with Lots to See

I don't know why i waited until almost the end of my trip to come here ! It is a two-story shopping paradise ! I spent most of the week mulling around other shops and stores, even CVS and Walmart and honestly these prices are pretty reasonable. The selection is outstanding. Although I was lucky enough to actually get my beach chairs on sale at CVS (the reg price was the same as Alvins) and when i ran out of sunscreen it was cheaper at Walmart.

I found several small, fun items for coworkers back home here at a cheap price that didn't bust my budget. I was excited to find myself a snorkeling set. It included fins, nicer mask and tubing with travel bag for just $36 which I thought was pretty good. I am coming back with my children for a family vacation next month and I already spotted several itmes for the beach that I plan on picking up.

I am always budgeted so I shop around for the best price. There were several things on sale to choose from and regular priced items were reasonable.

I was so happy with my visit to Pensacola this year that I must share it with everyone that plans to go there.
First, Alvin's Island is a one stop for all your vacation needs. They have everything from Sunscreen to Souvenirs to take home to the family. I was so satisfied that I went there almost every day of my vacation. When I came home to North Carolina I was so happy to find out that they have a web store so I can shop from home. www.alvinsisland.com.

Great Temporary Tattoos in Alvin's Island Store

In addition to all the usual stuff, they do temporary tattoos that are GREAT!

The people there don't use 'black' henna which can cause burns, blisters, scars and permanent injuries. This is because they don't use materials that have PPD which is an extremely toxic chemical that is used to make Kevlar, epoxy coatings, including fungicides, corrosion inhibitors, urethane coatings, rubber chemicals, hair dyes and polyurethane, It should be used as henna on anyone ever.

This is the only place in Panama City Beach that doesn't use PPD in their temporary tattoos!

So, if you want to have fun with temporary tattoos, go to Alvin's Island to the temporary henna tattoo booth being done by Tamar Accessories - safe fun for the entire family.

Alvin's Island Tropical Department Store

Alvin's Island Tropical Department Store

After swimming at the beach at Quickwater Pier, I wanted something cold before heading back to my sister's house. I headed over to Alvin's Island Tropical Department Store at the end of the pier since they have a little ice cream stand that sells Hershey's Ice Cream and other cold delights along with a big variety of souvenirs and t-shirts. I got a coffee mocha smoothie for $3.70 and decided to wander around the store to get some t-shirts for friends and family in Idaho.

Alvin's has huge variety of t-shirts, sweatshirts, baseball hats, knick knacks, and coffee mugs. The prices are pretty reasonable, and I noticed that Alvin's had shelves with t-shirts of various prices. I concentrated on the $12.99 or 2/$12 shelves for t-shirts after being unsatisfied with the $9.99 shelf of t-shirts. Even extra-large t-shirts on that shelf looked really small and the quality was questionable to me.

However, the more expensive shelves of t-shirts looked a little more promising, and I spent a good 15-20 minutes finding t-shirts for Mom, Karla, and me. I settled on three t-shirts with the same Pensacola Beach, Florida logo in olive green, burgundy, and navy blue print on white backgrounds. After getting the shirts, I looked some more and went to pay. The young lady at the register was from Eastern Europe (most of the employees hailed from there from what I could see and hear) was very nice, and my three t-shirts came to $41.61 with the 7.5% sales tax.

Happy with my purchases, I headed to Erika's car for the long ride home. Alvin's also has a huge variety of beach supplies, towels, and for those who left their cameras at home, disposable cameras for you to buy. Alvin's is very popular with the tourists to Quickwater Pier, and it can be very crowded on the weekends, but it's a short stop for all who visit Pensacola Beach, Florida.
