Well...there's not much to do in Greenville besides work. The beach is 4 hours away and I don't think many would do that drive if not in the weekend. If you decided to punish your family bringing then to Greenville, the least you could do is Jump on US26 and drive up the mountains to Asheville. Great town by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lots of art galleries, restaurants, pubs, blue grass music, big lesbian hang-out (don't start packing for road trip just yet dude), and people are great all around. Plus it's only 1-2 hours away.
