Mardi Day at Michaul's in New Orleans

I have attended Mardi Gras in New Orleans 10 times prior to this trip, but I must say that this was the best Mardi Gras ever.

This year we choose to celebrate Mardi Gras at a place called Michaul's Cajun Restaurant. They have grandstands outside their restaurant where their customers can view the parades. Here you do not have to fight the crowds on the streets, you are at eye level with the floats and when you want to take a break, you just go inside and eat and dance to the band which playing all day for the customers listening pleasure.

If you are familiar with Mardi Gras, you know they throw beads and other miscellaneous items from the floats, so being at eye level, you are able to catch the attention of the riders of the floats to get them to throw items your way. I caught so many beads that we had to purchase a bag to carry them all back to the ship. This was the most fun I have ever had in New Orleans.

In addition to the grandstands the guest was serve food and drinks (included in the price of the ticket) for the duration of the day. In the morning, they started off with breakfast items and then transitioned into the buffet, which included various Cajun specialties. I drank so many Hurricanes that I lost count.

This was a place that is suited for the entire family. I would recommend for anyone who wants to experience Mardi Gras to give Michual a try. It was great. Check out their website for information on their Mardi Gras packages.
