I was brought to the waiting camp and was immediately impressed by the beautiful, small landscape surrounded by clay elephant statues, which looked like little Dumbo, and some lady statues. It has a hut for shade while you wait for the jeep to take you to the elephant trekking camp. There are boards pinned with some histories of the elephants and how they upkeep the elephants. The toilets are very clean and modern. I thought they may be a hole without a flushing unit.
Later on, the jeep took me to the camp where there are two baby elephants doing tricks, like painting. They also curtsy when being fed bananas that can be bought at 20Bht per basket. You can take pictures too.
Then I was brought to another site where there is a souvenir hut selling all sorts of elephant-shaped wooden and clay miniatures, spoons, t-shirts, and more.
After a briefing, I sat on the elephants, which trek for around 30 minutes. One can behold the vast landscape of dewy mountains, a crystal-clear ocean, and feel the breeze. At the end of the trip, one can buy more bananas as a reward for the elephant.
Overall, it is a nice experience, especially when the elephants make a fuss to move on, and when they go up and down the hill, like in a roller coaster but at a much, much slower pace - and it cost me only 980Bht.
