Three Dog Bakery

On our way to Cupcake, we ran across the Three Dog Bakery. I had been to one of their bakeries before in Myrtle Beach, and love shopping here. So as soon as we grabbed our cupcakes we made a stop in here for treats for our wee ones that we left at home with Grandma.

The store is very much like a human bakery with tray after tray of delectable goodies for your favorite pooch. They have items such as pupcakes, puptarts, cookies, and bars. They also have packaged treats and baskets. You can also find treats here for your feline friends. And they also carry pet accessories. I picked up Jasmine an assortment of puptarts and pupcakes as since St. Patty’s was near, some shamrock cookies. I also grabbed her a bag of packaged treats as well as a bag of treats for my kitties.

The company started in 1989 when Dan Dye and Mark Beckloff were looking for treats for their dog Gracie that were good and good for her. Today they have bakeries all over the country, on-line shopping and their treats can be found at retailers such as Wal-Mart, Coastco, and Krogers. They use only the best and healthiest ingredients including peanut butter, wheat flower, honey, fruits, and veggies. With all the recent pet scare foods, they offer up food that is made from natural ingredients and are safe for your 4-legged friends. Your purchase also goes to help their Gracie foundation which helps abused and neglected pets. That is always an incentive for me as to where I spend money on my babies. I like people who give back.

The shop is located on King St. right across from Cupcake. This area is an up and coming area of Charleston. There are a lot of renovations going on here and old buildings are now housing business, restaurants, and bars. They are located near the visitor center on Meeting St. Parking here can be a nightmare so I would suggest parking at the visitor center and walking the few blocks to get here. The store is a treat for both pets and their pet parents and I always love going in to see the animals out shopping with their human friends.

If you don’t have a bakery near you, then you can shop on-line. Their website is www.threedog.com. Even their titles on their website are adorable with such buttons as sniff out a store, "paw’ticulars, and "pup"dates.

So while you are in this charming and historic area, make sure to stop in and grab some treats for your wee ones left at home. Your babies will thank you.
