Pune Landmark

A royal residence built by the second Peshwa, Bajirao-II ,now in ruins, but under good care of ASI (Archeological Survey of India) only Plinth level is present. If Big Ben represents London, Eiffel Tower represents Paris then Shaniwarwada represents Pune.

Entry Fee for Indians:-Rs.5 & for foreigners Rs.100 or 2$.
It is daily open from 08:00 to 18:00.
Also a show on the life of Peshwa is shown from 19:15 to 20:15 in Marathi language &
second show in English from 20:30 to 21:30.

Looking at the ruins of this palace, you can see that, at one time, it was spectacular, but time and neglect have taken its toll.
Built in 1736, the palace of the Peshwa rulers burnt down in 1828, but the walls still remain.

There is an unkempt garden inside the walls.
We came by at night was it was suppose to be lit up but it wasn't, so the pictures that we took didn't turn out.
