Cerro San Crisobal

San Cristobal Hill is amazing. It's one of the most recognized landmarks in Chile and is a wonder to be seen. It's the very first stop we made on our trip there. And we climbed all the way up. The 260 view of Santiago is absolutely beautiful, as is the statue of the Virgin Mary atop Cerro San Cristobal. And it was here that I had my first taste of Mote Con Huesillo, a most fabulous peach-wheat tea drink.

San Cristobal

A visit to San Cristobal is a highlight in Santiago to get a panoramic view of the city. On a clear day you can see all over the city with the Andes Mountains looming in the background. You can access the top of the mountain by car, funicular, or cable car. At the top is the 40' statue of the Virgin, a must see visit for the religious believers. The view is a bit marred by the surrounding electrical towers and wires.
