'United We Stand' 2006

Fire Station #8 is named for the late Vince Genovese who was a true friend and helper to many fire fighters and never said 'no' when there was a need. The station and the public art honor the Big V and the fire fighters.

Please come and see this wonderful new piece of public art at the brand new Fire Station #8 near the medical center in Fort Worth. By artist Eric McGehearty, this thoughtful tribute honors fire fighters. It already is a popular place to take photos and children really love climbing around on the boots which are bronze with patina and represent the classic 3/4 boots worn by firefighters in the past.

These 12 pair of boots honor fire fights preparedness and camaraderie while the words "Courage, Duty, Honor and Vigilance" displayed on the windows of the stations tower reinforce their core values.

Bless them all!
