Electoral Palace and Gardens

While you can only tour this impressive building by appointment; the gardens and the building itself are something to see. The pictures do not do the building justice with all of the intricate details and the feeling that you get when standing on the landing for the stairs in front. This was built in the 1600s, remodeled in the late 1770s, several buildings were destroyed in WW2, and it is still used today as an administrative building. You can peek inside the windows and see tapestries hanging on the walls as well as chairs in the hall. The gardens are beautiful and lead back to the Kaisertherman. There are tall hedges lining either side, a jetted fountain, benches line the walkway with trees behind them, people still come here to relax in the sun, and play soccer. On one exterior side of the hedges there are several street vendors where you can get a drink, snack, or trinkets. The gardens are a nice place to relax, have lunch, and still take in history as they contain many original statues, trees, and fountains.
