While staying in the Rochester area, we went snow skiing at Bristol Mountain. The website is
www.bristolmountain.com I had asked for email notifications for discounts, but they did not have any. If you have a Wegmans card, there is a discount on Saturday evenings for families. We would have taken advantage of it, but my sister's family wanted to go during the day.
We walked up to a booth to get our lift ticket and ski rental. They were helpful and graphically showed us which lift and trails were open. The rental equipment looked in good shape. The skis seemed to be new. This seems to be the only ski rental place in the area (we do not own our own skis). The people were courteous and helpful.
We were there in December after Christmas and the slopes were not that good due to the warm unseasonable weather. There was only one lift that was open. It was a nice high-speed four seater that seemed to have new seats. The lift seemed to be in good shape. We noticed seat replacement on an unopened lift while we were there.
While we were there, the slopes were primarily ice so the quality of the skiing was not good. I did not go on the black diamond, but the green slopes were well designed. The overall condition of the place seems to be well maintained. One day during the holiday it was packed, but we came a couple days later and it was almost deserted (poor snow conditions). Seemed like a place for families in the area.
The lodge had tables and shelves where you could store items. My sister brought food so it would not be so expensive. There was no complaint from management with us doing this. The lodge was maintained and the bathrooms were clean.
We had enjoyable time (in spite of the ice) and would go back the next time we are in the area.
