St. Maarten is a duty-free paradise! The Dutch side is the place to go for electronics and camera equipment, jewelry, and liquors that you can't find at the stores in Maho Bay.
I won't list all the stores present, but suffice it to say that if you have been wanting to buy an expensive digital camera, a digital camcorder, a diamond ring, a Rolex, or the like, Philipsburg is the place to buy it. Expect to save 10-20% over US prices, and expect to pay no tax. Remember that many things can be bargained for here!
