Must See

This is a hidden gem in the French Quarter. Conviently nestled among the galleries and antique shops on Royal street this is a must see. This gallery captures the spirit of New Orleans like few other places. Not only do you get to see the first fine art gallery dedicated to body painting but you also get to meet the artist and get an education into the evolving world of body art. Craig is a real stand up guy and a delight to chat with. I have traveled 1700 miles to visit family and this has been my only other stop.

The artist, Craig Tracy, showcases his work along with a few other artists. Using latex paint they paid people then photograph the work. They made amazing use of texture and color and do some very clever things with backdrops that often disguise where the body starts and stops. We purchased a print there and even got to meet the model. In the gallery they showcase a video of the process as well. http://paintedalive.com
