Clinton House Museum

We speculated why the museum store wasn’t incorporated into the lower level of the Presidential Library Museum. My theory is they are trying to draw business to the River Market. And they will drive you there… a trolley picks up visitors from the Center and delivers them to the Clinton Museum Store. It is a short trip but the trolley round trips every 15-20 minutes. If you miss the trolley you could have a 20-minute wait. We opted to drive. Finding parking midweek in late October was OK. We still had to park a block away. We were told that would be nearly impossible in the summer.

We had two purposes here. Get our passports stamped and buy postcards/souvenirs. I heard some other visitors complaining about the quality of the souvenirs. That surprised me. I thought they had a nice range form kiddies toys to collectible Christmas ornaments to artist signed pottery. There were plenty of things stamped with Clinton’s name, hats and sweatshirts, and there were plenty of things by local/regional craftsmen.

The River Walk area might have been a tempting if we hadn’t worn our hoofies off at the Presidential Center. I would plan on doing that on a separate day. Another place we had planned on going to but ran out of energy was Doe’s Eat Place. This is a Clinton favorite restaurant in Little Rock. It was a campaign staffers hangout. Little Rock has a lot to offer with museums, art galleries, shopping, and historical sites. Plan on at least two days in this state capitol.
