ESPN Zone

The ESPN Zone is filled with activities and games for kids to play while waiting for the games. The College World Series (CWS) may be the biggest sporting event I have ever been to. It was bigger than the High School State baseball tournament and any other baseball game I have been to. Since people come from all over the place and are here for the whole week ESPN offers a variety of games and activities for passing the time. There is a basketball 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 shoot out a batting cage, football throwing, and some other games.

You can register to enter competitions in all these games and try to win prizes. There is also a hall of fame corner where you can go and read about the history of the College World Series. There you can enter to win a season pass to the CWS tournament next year. You will also see several camera guys from ESPN walking around filming stuff for the introduction of the games. My son and I got stopped and were asked to be filmed. We did not make it on TV but it was still neat to be asked.

Also outside the stadium is a band set up playing music to help pass the time. The whole CWS experience is the whole experience; meaning getting there several hours before the game and checking out everything. It’s a good thing ESPN had the ESPN Zone and there is music. It makes the experience that much more fun.
