Cabela's

We waited a long time for Cabela's to come to our area. In the northern reaches of Fort Worth, not far from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, Cabela's built a town-size retail opportunity for people who love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, outdoor cooking, or just enjoy seeing it all in one place. Fresh worms anyone? Arrive with your dog? There are outdoor kennels to keep him or her safe and out of your hot car. Hungry? There is a large cafeteria. Curious? There are all sorts of formerly living exotic animals on display. Travel clothing is no problem as there is a very large selection. I especially enjoyed the huge display of "Lodge" cast iron cookware and the food items also for sale including famous mixes for biscuits and camp fire cakes. Even large boats look small under Cabela's giant roof. There must be hundreds of types of tents and sleeping bags for sale. A great family experience unless your children are spooked by stuffed (formerly live) animals. Cabela's is a popular place for school tours; so most children seem to do just fine.
