Coventry Transport Museum

We had an hour and a half to spare, the entrance was free, and my husband loves cars, so it was a no-brainer to spend the morning at the Coventry Transport Museum, just across the street from the Coventry Pool Meadow coach station.

Coventry is the centre of the British automobile industry, one of the reasons why the German Blitzkrieg completely flattened the city during the Second World War. The Coventry Transport Museum showcased cars, bicycles and motorcycles through the ages, both from Great Britain and around the world. One of the highlights of the exhibit was a ride in a simulation of the breaking of the land speed record nine years ago.

If you're a car-lover, this place is highly recommended; if not, it's still a nice, free way to pass some time.

The museum is open all year Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Hours are 10AM-5PM (last admission at half past four). Entrance is free.
