After a long 4th of July day at the beach and fireworks enjoyment, my friends and I decided that we'd end the night with a few drinks. Also, being hungry, Hooters seemed like the best place to go. Situated on downtown Long Beach's most lively street (Pine) and surrounded by a mixture of restaurants, clubs, and sports bar, this becomes the perfect environment for a pre-party.Be sure to be greeted at the door by an array of beautiful ladies and seated either at the bar or high chair tables. The atmosphere is lively, with enormous big screens playing the daily sporting events and fans cheering and jeering. We even lied and said that it was one of our friend's b-day just so the ladies could put on the birthday show. They also gathered together and did the YMCA dance.
The food is absolutely wonderful, although I really haven't tried much on the menu besides the Hot Wings and Buffalo Shrimp, which are breaded and sauced to perfection. Come during the weekdays for happy hour (beginning around 4pm and ending at 7pm) and enjoy drink and appetizer specials. The sports bar does not serve hard liquor but has a wide variety of bottled and draft beers at a reasonable price. It wasn't reasonable for us, since we kept ordering pitcher after pitcher, but you can't blame us it was a celebration.
Hooters can be a place to enjoy all the happening sporting events, or just a place to relax with your buddies and take down a few beers. Lovely ladies, along with great food and beer, sounds like the perfect getaway.
