Garbage Beach

Garbage Beach

We had so much fun when we went to the beach in La Jolla. We found this beach by just driving through downtown La Jolla. You could see it stretching for miles from the road. There were a lot of people at the beach, but because the beach is so long, there is enough room for lots of people to come and hang out. The beach is right along lots of little shops and places to grab a bite to eat. They also offer a large restroom area and outdoor showers to get the sand off of your body (this is such a great idea.) The beaches are open all day and night. At night many people have fires in the provided fire pits that are along the beach. There was also a radio station that was going to have a huge beach bash the week after we left, but they had huge signs posted everywhere about it. The water was suprisingly warm and clear. Way out in the distance we saw a dolphin leap out of the water. It was an amazing sight. One great thing about this beach was the amount of lifeguards on duty. There were some driving around in a Jeep, a couple at the lifeguard towers, and some walking the beaches. It seemed very safe.
