Description: I was not planning on this stop but I drove by and thought why not. This would be a great thing to do as a family, not bad for a single either. There are two admission fees. One if you just want to walk around and see/hold the turtles, and another if you would like to enjoy the swimming area. When you first enter there is a large viewing area where the BIG turtles are. I do mean BIG, they are swimming atop of one another. At first it appears that there is not enough room, but when you look at the whole area there is plenty of room for them to be, but they are used to the tourist feeding them so they all stay close to the front in hopes of catching a few extra bits of kibble. When you continue on the path there are other tanks with younger ages of turtles and touch tanks. Almost all of the tanks appear to have too many turtles and not enough space but they are constantly moving turtles so they are not over crowded. They also have a rare crocodile. I was alone and really wanted to have my picture taken with a turtle, and the security officer was kind enough to suggest just that. So I chose one of what I thought was a small turtle to pick up. I never thought it would be as heavy as it was.
This was a fun thing to do, but again remember it is a turtle farm, and that is really all there is. They are still building on, and I am sure it was larger than this Prior to Ivan. They do have a really nice gift shop, don't forget to stop there for a reminder of the day.
