Go Ahead Tour Bus

We purchased a ticket for a bus tour from a street vendor, there are numerous scattered locations throughout the city, and hopped on the bus. Immediately, like most tourists we headed for the top level. Be forewarned, it rains A LOT in Scotland sitting on the top level almost guarantees that you will end up getting rained on at some point. The bus stops at all the major attractions in Edinburgh, the Castle, The Royal Mile, Greyfriars Bobby and many more.

We would advise that you sit through the bus tour at least one time without getting off and listen to the commentary, it can be cheesy but for the most part it is pretty interesting. Then take the tour again and begin to hop on and off to see the sights, it makes the trip much more enjoyable. The buses run from around 7 in the morning until 6 at night. Each purchased ticket is good for one 24 hour period, so you aren't limited to only one day of travel if you time it just right. The busses will drop you off in very centralized locations allowing you to more easily navigate through the congested city streets. Well worth the money!
