The Galway Oyster Festival has two things--oysters and Guinness. You might think it's an odd combination, but I assure you, it's sublime. The festival is fantastic. A great big marque tent is place down near the seafront at the wee harbour. You can easily walk down, stumble down, through the main pedestrian thoroughfare sampling the porter left and right as you head up and down to the motherload of oysters. The deal was pretty sweet. You paid in, I reckon, around 10 Euro and got a pint. This worked especially well for me. The have all sorts of entertainment going on, and you will be spoilt for talent by the artists not only performing in the main attractions but through the city during this period. The buskers and street artists are phenomenal. This is a true relish of a festival, with oysters and Guinness--what more needs to be said?
