Galway Arts Festival

The Galway Arts Festival has a reputation for bringing the best and most innovative shows and performers to Ireland for two weeks of carnival, theatre, literature, music and 'craic'. The largest and most prestigious arts festival in Ireland it runs during the last two weeks of July each year. There is always something for everyone. This year John Mahoney from Frasier headlined a production of Eugene O'Neill's 'A Long Day's Journey into Night' to packed houses, while Steppenwolf made their Irish debut with 'Sideman'. Other performers included the Blind Boys of Alabama, Ron Sexsmith, and Beth Orton. But the highlight of the festival was, as usual, Macnas's annual parade through the streets of Galway.
