Description

Since the legendary Trio Matamoros, musical threesomes have greatly evolved in Cuba. In Sancti Spiritus and musical treasure-troves like La Casa de la Trova (The Home of the Ballad), trios from throughout the island flock here annually. The event attracts diverse arrangements of vocalists and musicians with an assortment of guitars such as the 3-stringed or double coursed Cuban Tres, or small Spanish Requinto. Percussion makes its presence as well to assist in rendering Latino sounds including the danzon, bolero, son montuno, rumba, mambo, and cha cha cha.
