Blame the title both on the luxuriant foliage and on one site's being the set for the movie Predator. See note*. This is a small bus tour into the hills and back roads south of Puerto Vallarta. The three main sites visited center around open air restaurants: Chico's Paradise, Chino's Paradise, and El Eden (the Predator site). Also include are a stop along the main highway at a souvenir stand which overlooked Los Archos, the off-shore islands which provide a good scuba spot.
At all three jungle sites, an adjacent stony watercourse makes for scenic lounging, athletic hiking, and photo opportunities. Swimming in the fresh water streams is allowed, but the water's cold as it tumbles rapidly down the mountains.
The bus ride itself was interesting, especially for the trip to El Eden. It follows a dirt road a lane and a half wide along a steeply curving course for many miles. It's not a route I'd want to drive in a compact car, much less a bus.
For us, there was a bonus of a van ride through PV's old town and El Centro. That's because the tour included pick-up from our condo in Conchas Chinas, with delivery to the main bus site near Marina Vallarta. The bus tour also included a short stop at a tequila factory.
