Domingos de Casa Abierta is a monthly event in the city of Quito, organized by the Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana. There are various activities that happen concurrently, but undoubtedly the most popular is the presentation of various puppet shows for children. The performances take place in the morning, usually in one of the rooms of the house (Demetrio Aguilera). When the weather is good, they take place in Parque del Arbolito, which is a park next to this cultural space. These characters from fairy tales transport the children to a fantasy world and make them smile with their colorful costumes. Candy and ice cream complete this event for the kids, while their parents attend other cultural activities.
