Description: Situated in the West End Historic District in downtown Dallas, the Dallas World Aquarium is a wildly popular spot for tourists and locals alike, and well-known for its dedication to conservation of threatened and endangered species. The upper level of the aquarium is zoo-like, a reproduction of the Orinoco Rainforest. Here you’ll watch scarlet ibis and toucans swoop overhead, while tamarin monkeys crash through the canopy. The exhibit also houses the only publicly displayed three-toed sloths in North America, in addition to Orinoco crocodiles, poison dart frogs and vampire bats. The aquarium is found on the lower level of the complex, divided into 10 different exhibits highlighting the aquatic life of 10 distinct regions of the world’s oceans.
