CJM Stables is about 1 mile right down the road from the Embassy Resort. Follow the main road (Poipu Road) past the Hyatt onto a dirt road and you will see a sign that says "CJM Stables 1/2 mile." Continue straight and you will eventually come to the stables.
CJM Stables offers a great 2 hour horseback ride. The ride takes you through the beautiful mountainside pointing out special movie spots that were filmed on the island of Kauai. The ride also takes you down along some beautiful beaches - even naked beach. The ride is great for both beginners and experienced riders. I took my 10 year old daughter on the ride and she did very well. The guide stopped in certain areas pointing out history of the island. We saw some beautiful sights. 1/2 way through the ride we took a break the the guide gave us POG (Passion, Orange & Guava) juice.
The horses were well groomed & trained. My horse's name was Peter Pan. If you get him, be prepared to stop a lot because he likes to stop and eat. My daughter rode Harry Potter and he was a very gentle horse. He followed the trail very well except once he got off the trail and pulled her under a branch of a tree!
We had a great time and would definately do this trail ride again.
