Description
New Haven's City Hall, located steps from the historic green, is one of the country's oldest and finest examples of the High Victorian style. It was built in 1861 by Henry Austin, and inside you can revel in its beautifully detailed iron staircase. The facade of the building has changed many times but the sandstone and limestone exterior was restored in 1976. You are welcome to slip in and take a look during office hours, or just admire the building from the outside.n
