Great Store, Great Experience

before coming from huntsville to chattanooga to xmas shop last week, i looked online to find this shop's address and came across good and bad reviews. fortunately, i didn't let the few bad reviews prevent me from going to choo choo fly & tackle because i experienced nothing but excellent customer service and a great atmosphere of knowledge and experience. my husband and i recently moved to north alabama from mobile and were hoping to find a good fly shop nearby since we spend much of our time fly fishing in the florida keys and new mexico. i was so delighted upon walking in the store when i saw a gentleman purchasing a fly rod for permit and also heard him discussing steelhead fishing in british columbia. someone working there had actually spent several years steelhead fishing the bulkley and kispiox rivers where my husband i fished for his birthday trip. i instantly knew i was in the right spot!!! after introducing myself and describing what i was looking for, the polite staff took care of me and helped make my xmas shopping a breeze. my husband will be so excited!!! it is so nice to have a fly shop of this caliber in chattanooga.

My family and I were delighted by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at Choo Choo Fly and Tackle. We had been shopping at the Orvis store; however, they simply did not carry the big name fly fishing brands that my son and husband ask for. The staff there is friendly, although Choo Choo Fly and Tackle's employees are polite aswell and very familiar with their vast selection of products. As my son said, "If you are a serious fly fisherman in Chattanooga, you goto Choo Choo Fly and Tackle.' I also like the fact that Choo Choo stocks gear for the female angler. Choo Choo Fly and Tackle is a great store, and I will definately be back.
Treated Poorly & Mostly Ignored

I was warned by others of this but wouldn't take their word for it...my mistake! Humiliated by them at my "lack of knowledge" I went to the other fly shop (Feather and Fly) and was more than pleased by their hospitality to me and my family. I recommend Feather and Fly, they are an Orvis store, too.
