Description
The city dates back to roman times, but it was in the medieval period that Chieri had his time of glory. The layout of the city still today, with its narrow, winding streets, is reminiscent of urban medieval structure.
The Cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria della Scala is notable as one of the best examples of gothic Piedmont art. Another example of gothic style is the San Domenico church with its beautiful belltower.
From the piazzale opposite the San Giorgio church, one can enjoy an interesting panorama of the whole city.
