Silversmithing has a long tradition in Cambodia, although in the last 20 years the craft has struggled to flourish because of the disruption in the lives of the artisans. Chiep Heng has a fine collection of new and antique silverware. Items include cutlery, ornamental plates and intricately designed table decorations in the shapes of frogs, elephants and other indigenous beasts. All silver here is sold by weight so prices are not as flexible as you might expect. Staff speak English and are accustomed to dealing with foreigners.
