Fun for Everyone!

The Chandler Ostrich Festival celebrates it's 21st anniversary this year. This is a 3 day extravaganza that offers something for everyone!
More food than you can shake a stick at, carnival rides, live bands, ostrich, pig and camel races, a petting zoo, you name it!

We went on a Saturday afternoon and had a great time. March is wonderful time of year in Arizona...the temperature is around 80 degrees and there are nice breezes to help cool you off.

There are beer tents all over the grounds for those adult patrons, as well as frozen lemonade, ostrich burgers, indian fry bread, hot dogs, pizza, fish, beef jerky, ice cream...it's all here!
There are live bands in the evenings..this year Foghat and Starship played.

The Annual Ostrich Festival is held in honor of the tradition of Ostrich Ranching in Chandler. Ostrich ranching was huge back in the day, mainly for they're expensive plumes. Over 300 volunteers help put this event on, and the place is packed everyday.

It's great for kids of all ages and there are vendors hawking everything from ostrich meat, to martial arts, to massages, to real estate.

There is a HUGE stage that hosts the big bands, and a smaller one that has local comedians and dance troupes throughout the day.

There is no indoor plumbing here, only groups of porta potties. There are hand washing stations by the bathrooms and hand sanitizer in each porta-pottie.

The park is wheelchair friendly, as are the restrooms. Some of the paths are paved, others are gravel.

If you happen to be in town during the festival, you should head ob over...it was a lot of fun and we ATE ALL DAY!
