Description: Museon is located in The Hague and is easily accessible, it is well sign posted and is therefore easy to find. When we first arrived we saw a shop where you could buy anything and there was a skeleton of some large beast, a whale. When you go trough the glass doors in front of youcame in through a hallway and there was the box office.
Down stairs
When you walk into the hall you see a movie where a murder case is explained. It's up to you to solve the murder. You'll get a book and a pencil and then you can look for clues. We have of course done this. We have viewed the video and we have looked into the police investigation. There are three suspects and one of them did it. Here you get various clues you can listen with headphones.
First you investigate the crime scene, you'll see the living room where the murder took place.
If you have written different things and have listened to one of the accused go to the section room. Here, examined the body (of course there is no real body) inside and outside directions.
Then the biometric lab at the turn, here you should find out whose fingerprints they have found. Also you hear the voices of the answering machine. Then go to investigate the fiber lab, DNA laboratory, chemical laboratory and the ballistics lab. At the end of investigations, you have an idea who the killer is. You can enter in a computer. Did you do it right you get a code that allows you access to the rest.
I thought I was really interesting and a fun way to learn more. It keeps you busy and you really want to solve the case. You have to be patience and listen and look for all the clues. So it does take a while before you can solve the murder.
Up stairs
There were several parts that often run together. The theme is Your World, My World.
I will mention a few just because that is not all that much.
* Digging in the dunes, here you could see what people have digged from the earth excavation.
* Netherlands water land, here you can see several things about water and how it works.
* Children at war, here was a large closet with lots to see in all those drawers and each drawer was a story of a child in the war. Mainly stories from the second world war. There were lots and we have not even seen all, I found it very interesting.
* Ancient Egypt, here you could see what it looked like in those days.
* Law and Peace, here you got a few stories to read and you had to say whether the punishment they received was good or not. After a few of those stories did you told if you were fair or not in your judgment.
* Prehistory of the Netherlands, Were does the human come from?

Conclusion
I did not expect that we would be in so long. We have spend almost 4 hours walking around, I expected an hour and a half or so. We have over a long time walking around. Downstairs was really the fun part with solving a murder and I assume for children it’s fun too. Upstairs was more serious but interesting done. Museon I can really recommend it, it is very interesting and instructive, for the children but also for the elderly, it is interesting enough to look at it.
