This wonderful garden opened in 1900 in the 150-acre South Park. The conservatory features 13 greenhouses including collections of orchids, bromeliads, begonias, cacti, ferns, palms, citrus, an herb marketplace, and a rainforest tower above a pond and water garden.
Open year-round it features seasonal flower shows indoors and out, with all-America display beds in bloom in the summer.
Educational programs and special events include: guided tours and trips; unusual plant sales; cultural events developed around the opening of the flower shows; and horticultural workshops for adults and children.
