Local Park with Outdoor Theater

Brengle Terrace is a large, hilly park that is crowded with local families on most summer weekends. On weekdays and in the colder months, people walk their dogs (must be on a leash) or bring their kids to the play structure (new structure will slides, climbing structures, bridges, etc.). The park offers sand vollyball, public restrooms, ample picnic tables and areas that can be reserved for parties.

The road around the park is great for running, walking and biking (it is very hilly). The Vista Recreation Center is right next to the park, and has public tennis courts, ball fields, and indoor and outdoor basketball courts. The center has year-round activities for children through the Vista Parks and Rec Department.

The highlight of the park is the outdoor theater: Moonlight Amphitheatre (http://www.moonlightstage.com/). It offers summer musicals with full orchestra and professional and local artists. About six shows are staged each summer, each running for two weeks. Guests can sit in reserved seats, or sit on the lawn in lawn chairs. Almost everyone brings a picnic dinner (alcohol is allowed).
