Old Faithful Geyser

Old Faithful geyser, which is adjacent to Old Faithful Inn, is probably the most viewed geyser in Yellowstone. It erupts almost every 80 to 92 minutes. When erupting, the geyser shoots 5,000 to 8,000 gallons of water app. 130 feet up into the air. It is an impressive sight to see. We saw it erupt at 8:30 p.m. and the sky was a rich, dark blue. With the white stream of water and steam, the sight was gorgeous and made some wonderful photos. There is an area with benches that gives an excellent viewing of the geyser. Get there early if you want to be on the front row for picture taking. You also can see the geyser erupt from the second story of Old Faithful Inn. There is a large deck area outside with huge log chairs and benches for your viewing pleasure. It has a straight line of vision for watching Old Faithful gather pressure and erupt one more time.

There also is another geyser area across the road from Old Faithful Inn that seemed to erupt at the same time as Old Faithful. It also was very impressive and when caught at sunset, it provided a wonderful memory and some breathtaking photographs.
