More Scrooge than Santa...

This experience offers little over a well planned normal park visit. We advise only purchasing if you are sure you will get added value personally.

The parades, fireworks, and shows are more festive but crowd levels and wait times are comparable or even worse than other days in December. The logistics of getting normal visitors out and event guests in have not been adequately addressed - so expect huge seas of people going in every direction and for the first hour expect being stopped every few yards by Disney Cast members to check your wrist band.

If you are a Disney diehard and are happy to pay a couple of hundred dollars to see a slightly different parade/show/fireworks in an equally congested setting - you will not be disappointed. If you have small children or expect something magical or special for the extra ticket price- expect to be very very disappointed and keep your hard earned money. There is more scrooge than Santa to this Disney experience...

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Hmmm, magical. That's the best way to describe it. Magic Kingdom is open until midnight for guests with tickets. The party officially starts at 7pm, but you can start coming into the park around 4pm. At 6, the park is closed to prepare for the party, and guests are sent to one of the lands to wait. Once 7 comes around, the party is in full swing!

I highly recommend getting a special park map from the entrance of the park when you enter. It points out all of the special events going on during the party (such as a Holiday Hop dancing area with characters for the young and old alike), and things like free photos with Santa, and where the free cookie and hot cocoa locations are.

Almost all of the rides are still open during the party, and we never had a wait for anything the entire night.

After the parade, there was a special "Wishes" performance, which is Disney's 360 degree fireworks show. Bring tissues, because it will bring tears to your eyes—it is simply beautiful.

All in all, we are sooooo glad we went to the party, and I am sure we will return again.

They give out free cookies and hot chocolate, plus you can get a commemorative picture taken. There are so many few people at night, giving you elbow room and short lines at rides. It seems like there are more adults there since kids tucker out early. It is a much relaxing evening and romantic for honeymooners. I met a couple who come every year, going on 40 years now.
