The paved TART Trail is also a great place to in-line skate, walk, run…
The VASA Pathway is a “two-track” trail (groomed for cross country skate skiing in winter) that meanders through the Pere Marquette State Forest. There are 3, 5, 11, and 25km marked loops, plenty of hills, and some sand. Its wide enough to ride two abreast for a ride-n-chat, or you can put your front sprocket on the "big ring" and race the clock.
For those who prefer more of an off road experience, there is a VASA Singltrack 13 mile marked loop. It is a great ride with a good mix of curves, hills, sand, and jumps. I have ridden the trail with serious riders against the clock and for pride, but also with my family for a leisurely ride through the woods.

In addition to the TART and VASA Trails, there are a number of other good places to ride within easy driving distance of TC. When in town and after you conquered the VASA pathway and Vasa Singletrack, check with the riders a Brick Wheels, McLain Cycle, GT Cycle...
