Dickerson Park Zoo

The Dickerson Park Zoo has made major improvements in the last few years, thanks to the donations and dues of Friend's of the Zoo members. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, with native plants as well as beautiful flowers. The only negatives to the zoo are that, while there are several new exhibits, some of the older exhibits remain. Some of these older exhibits are rather run-down looking and need to be removed or remodelled. Parking is free, but finding a parking space can be an issue on busy days. A newly opened parking area has helped, but there still aren't enough spaces to adequately handle busy days. The zoo is relatively small and can be seen in a couple of hours, making it an ideal activity for small children with short attention spans.
