Considered one of the most beautiful city beaches in Europe, San Sebastian actually has three beaches: Playa de La Concha, Playa de Ondarreta, and La Zurriola. You can count a fourth beach if you include Isla de Santa Clara, the tiny island in the middle of the bay that has a lighthouse and small wharf with ferry service available from the harbor. July and August will bring the most crowds to the beach. La Concha is the most crowded beach, but Ondaretta has the best swimming. Remember that in Europe they do sunbathe topless.
