Bishops Peak
This is a one or two hour hike to the top of Bishops Peak. If you are looking for a prime view of the town, you can't beat Bishops. The effort is well worth it. You'll enjoy wonderful views, a decent workout, and get some good sun. There are a few forks in the road, but it is fairly easy to figure out and there is always someone hiking to point you in the right direction if you are unsure.
There are some benches, but make sure you keep on going. Continue on and climb the techincal rock section and you will literally be on top of the mountain.
The hike downhill takes about half the time because it is so much less trenuous.

An easy to moderate hike along the uphill path will get you to a gargantuan set of rocks where you can lie, relax and enjoy the scenery. Your high up and isolated, one of the best sunsets I saw in San Luis Obispo.
