Towering pyramids rise above the jungle canopy to catch the sun. Howler monkeys swing in the trees. Tikal is wet on a small hill. The Maya settled here around 700 B.C. We were accompanied by a Guatemalan tour guide who easily got us across without hassle. The tour was arranged at Eva's. The highlight of the tour is climbing up Temple Four. It's the highest building and the view is a panorama across the jungle canopy. If you stay overnight you can try to sneak into the park early to see the sunrise from up top - spectacular!
