At 11,000 feet up, the air is thinner, and it is harder to breathe, but if you are in shape, the hikes won't bother you. It is much cooler at that elevation, and a nice respite when it is hot in Albuquerque. There are rugged mountain cliffs you will pass on the way up and down. Sometimes someone will spot wildlife. Take a camera and get right up to the window so you get the full effect of the awesome ride.
