El Valle del el Tuito is an off-the-beaten-path destination. Approximately a 1-hour bus ride south of Vallarta (45km) along the picturesque route of Mex. 200 (and across Sierra Madre approximately 2,400 feet) lays the small agriculture village of El Tuito.
Traveling by bus is the most convenient and hassle-free travel mode around Puerto Vallarta. Take a blue and green Mismaloya/Boca de Tomatlan or El Tuito bus from the corner of Constitution and Basilio Badillo (in Zona Romantica in Puerto Vallarta). It costs 15 pesos one-way to go to El Tuito.
