If you're not into motorcycles, specifically Harley Davidsons, you'll find this place cool. If you ARE into them, you'll find this place really cool.
The showroom is huge. A neat racing strip in the center grabs your attention, notice the tracks. The drivers signed it and it is now covered with a clear coating. Today, it's used as a runway for shows and makes for an interesting part of the showroom.
Find a very nifty museum upstairs, and you can look down to see the showroom from it. The Museum is free and open to the public during normal business hours. One-fourth of the display cases change on a quarterly basis.
Apparently, people come from all over to shop, peruse, and/or wish. The customized bikes are incredible. The stories behind these people, no longer the conventional rebels, are fascinating.
Ray Price is an inductee of the National Motorcycle Hall of Fame and two-time Funny Bike national champion. Today, he is busy full-time managing the dealership, but he did return to ride on a top fuel bike at 58!!
The staff is quite friendly and knowledgeable. Many of them are Harley Davidson buffs themselves and will be happy to answer your questions in detail and even share a story or two.
For those who can't afford a bike outright (or are still iffy), you can rent one and embark on an adventure (and look real cool in the process). It's also a nice gift if you want to surprise someone and don't plan on buying them a bike. Practically speaking, it's not a bad idea, if you do plan on making a purchase, to get a feel for the particular bike you eventually do want to buy.
