I am not an expert fisherman, but my dad is, and he couldn't believe the amateur service we received. Many times, we were moving too fast to even catch anything, yet he told us to just toss the line out and let it drag. To make it worse, the weather was bad, and it started raining, but luckily it rained too much on our parade, and the rapids were so big that we actually had to exit the river before we had planned. It was actually to my surprise that we exited early because of large rapids, because I experienced some crazy decision-making during my 6 months in Chile, so it was nice to see someone make a rational decision.
I would not recommend fishing with any guide in Pucon, no matter what your skill level. Unfortunately, most guides in Pucon are not there to give quality service to the tourists but to put up a front as a quality unique adventure outfitter in order to suck as much money from the tourists as possible.
