Feeling sexy?? Say no more; just hop over to Lace Silhouette Lingerie at 201 Main. A bit pricey, but the pieces on display will abate your pain. Right next door, is Elegant Affairs , for women's apparel and gifts. If you champion fragranced products that are NOT tested on animals, hop on over to Common Scents at 128 Main; as a matter of fact, they made PETA's list of companies who are againt animal testing of their products.
Rachelle's European Pastry Shop will take you to Europe in a flash; not only are the pastries decadent, but we happened to visit as someone was actually playing a Beethoven piece on the piano! The Flower Garden across the street is not just about flowers: wonderful potted plants, ceramic pots, baskets, silk flowers, stuffed toys (animals), and bouquets. Continuing to please your nose, go into Maresa's Candlelight Gift Shoppe where you can whiff your way with scented candles, but also a large selection of collectibles, like Edna Hibel , Enesco , Rockwell and many others. For the water sportsman/woman, get your equipment at Island Watersports ; from skis, to surf boards, to jackets, and all the paraphernalia that goes with it. Can you tell I don't practice water sports?
A lot of artists reside in Port Jefferson and to support their "habit" is the Port Jefferson Art Colony , at 118 E. Main with some of the staples needed by most artists. Don't be surprised if you spot any of these finished works at any one of several art galleries along the town's artery. As you come to the end of Main Street, you'll find Chandler Square on your left, which has the look of a small outlet area. It has lovely landscaping and courtyards reminiscent of an old town; very upscale shopping awaits you. It was finished in 1976 and paved the way for the village's revitalizaiton. There is a store which only sells Christmas items all year long.
