For those who didn't know (myself included)..... Easter is the main celebration on the island of Cyprus (Christmas seems to mean very little and is hardly celebrated.) In a nutshell, all the local people take over just about everything. If you are going to eat out - book a week or two in advance to ensure a decent table. Having said that, if you can find somewhere to eat, the local people are still very friendly and warm towards tourists.

FOOD
For those who haven't tried them..... Meze's are the traditional dish. Fish and meat varieties available, but my favourite is a mixed meze. All the best bits from both types of meze. (You will need a good appetite for this.)

Alternatively go for the lamb kleftico - it's to die for !!
