Just "OK"

I spent a weekend in Oklahoma City and the Water Taxi is one of the most hyped-up attractions in town so I gave it a shot. To be candid, the trip was a bit disappointing. On the positive side, the guide tried to keep it interesting and the ride was relaxing. However, Bricktown is a new development without much history and the whole thing seemed a bit bogus. One interesting tidbit was that the Mexican restaurant on the left was opened in 1999 and ran out of salsa on their first day of service! You get the idea... Overall, it wasn't the worst attraction I've ever been to, but still wasn't worth the money and was really drab. There are so many better (and cheaper) things to do in OKC.

This is a very beautiful attraction. Even if you don't want to ride the the water taxi around, the trail that follows it is just as good. Both have their own advantages. When riding you get to hear historic information about the city and interesting people that have to do with it. When walking the trail you have to opportunity to stop and go to the many shops and restaurants around where you are.

The water canal in OKC is a beautiful one-mile-long ride on an open-air boat with very knowledgeable - and funny - guides. They tell you the history of the city and state, how the city decided to revitalize the downtown area, how they financed it, and what the future holds for the area. You could get on and off at several stops, the scenery and landscaping were beautiful, and it was a wonderful 40-minute ride for $7.00.
