It is a good beach for swimming, but Lake Tahoe is chilly year round, so you probably won't want to venture too far from the sun-warmed shore.
There are picnic facilities available. Parking is $6 during the day.

We wish this beach had more services. It would have been nice to be able to buy food and drink, and rent some water toys. Make sure you bring everything with you to Sand Harbor, it will be worth it. It's a Nevada state park, and there was a $6 fee.
